1、 Characteristics of non-woven fabrics

Non woven fabrics do not have warp and weft threads, making them very convenient to cut and sew, and are lightweight and easy to shape. Non woven fabrics break through traditional textile principles and have the characteristics of short process flow, fast production rate, high yield, low cost, wide use, and multiple sources of raw materials. Compared to textile fabrics, they have poor strength and durability, and cannot be cleaned like other fabrics. Because fibers are arranged in a certain direction, they are prone to splitting from a right angle, etc. Therefore, the improvement of production methods mainly focuses on improving the prevention of splitting.

 

2、 Classification of non-woven fabrics

◆ Spunlaced non-woven fabric:

High pressure micro water flow is sprayed onto one or more layers of fiber mesh, causing the fibers to intertwine with each other, thereby strengthening the fiber mesh and possessing a certain strength.

1. Flexible entanglement does not affect the original characteristics of the fibers and does not damage them.

2. The appearance is closer to traditional textiles.

3. High strength and low fuzzing.

4. High moisture absorption, fast moisture absorption.

5. Soft to the touch and good drapability.

6. The appearance pattern is variable.

7. The production process is long and covers a large area.

8. The equipment is complex, with high energy consumption and high water quality requirements.

◆ Heat sealed non-woven fabric:

It refers to the addition of fibrous or powdered hot melt bonding reinforcement materials to the fiber mesh, which is then heated, melted, and cooled to form a cloth.

Features: The surface of surface bonding hot rolling is relatively smooth, while the point bonding hot rolling is relatively fluffy.

◆ Pulp air flow net forming non-woven fabric:

Also known as dust-free paper or dry papermaking non-woven fabric. It uses airflow mesh forming technology to loosen the wood pulp fiberboard into a single fiber state, and then uses airflow method to aggregate the fibers onto the mesh curtain, and the fiber mesh is reinforced into a cloth.

Features: Good fluffiness, soft feel, and strong moisture absorption performance.

◆ Wet non-woven fabric:

It is to loosen the fiber raw materials placed in the water medium into single fibers, and mix different fiber raw materials to make a fiber suspension slurry. The suspension slurry is transported to the mesh forming mechanism, and the fibers are formed into a mesh in a wet state and then reinforced into a cloth.

Features:

1. High production speed, up to 400m/min.

2. Short fibers can be fully utilized.

3. The fiber mesh of the product has good uniformity.

4. Large water consumption and high one-time investment.

◆ Spunbonded non-woven fabric:

After the polymer has been extruded and stretched to form continuous filaments, the filaments are laid into a web, which then undergoes self bonding, thermal bonding, chemical bonding, or mechanical reinforcement methods to turn the web into non-woven fabric.

Features:

1. The fiber mesh is composed of continuous filaments.

2. Excellent tensile strength.

3. There are many changes in the process, and multiple methods can be used for reinforcement.

4. The variation range of filament size is wide.

◆ Melt blown non-woven fabric

The process of melt blown non-woven fabric: polymer feeding - melt extrusion - fiber formation - fiber cooling - mesh formation - reinforcement into fabric.

Features:

1. The fiber mesh is composed of extremely fine short fibers.

2. The fiber mesh has good uniformity and a soft feel.

3. Good filtration and liquid absorption performance.

4. The strength of the fiber mesh is poor.

◆ Needled non-woven fabric:

It is a type of dry process non-woven fabric, which uses the puncture effect of a needle to reinforce the fluffy fiber mesh into a cloth.

Features:

1. Flexible entanglement between fibers, with good dimensional stability and elasticity.

2. Good permeability and filtration performance.

3. It feels plump and fluffy.

4. Various collection patterns or three-dimensional formed products can be manufactured according to requirements.
