How to Choose Carpet Backing?

Pattern, fiber and color are each important to consider when specifying carpet. But what about the carpet backing itself? The underside of carpet, or the carpet backing, is often overlooked but plays a critical role in the performance and longevity of your carpet.

Generally speaking, all customers want the same basic performance from carpet – a durable product that retains its appearance long-term. However, some market segments prioritize certain features over others. In some instances, the carpet backing is what is solely responsible for the performance feature. During the tufting process with Yuzhimu backing, yarn tufts are stitched into primary carpet backing to provide a base cloth to hold the yarn in place. Secondary carpet backing provides further pile-yarn stability and increases stability to the carpet structure. Our range of Yuzhimu primary backings provide a strong stable cloth for securing yarn tufts.Yuzhimu secondary backing is composed of PET/PP nonwoven, which increases bulk and improves pre-coat absorption.Carpets reinforced with primary and secondary carpet backing are strong and heavy duty, and are commonly used in commercial and domestic settings.
